Fantastic Four: Atlantis Rising #2

Fantastic Four: Atlantis Rising #2 was published in 1995 as part of a crossover event that spanned the Fantastic Four family of titles. The series was designed to serve as a bridge between ongoing story arcs, focusing on the return of the sunken city of Atlantis and the subsequent political and environmental upheaval within the Marvel Universe. The narrative was crafted during a period of transition for the franchise, aiming to revitalize interest in the Fantastic Four's lore by reintroducing classic aquatic conflicts.

The issue features pencils by David Pugh and script contributions from Tom DeFalco and Glenn Herdling. The artistic direction leaned into the stylized aesthetic common to mid-90s comic book production, characterized by dynamic panel layouts and dramatic character postures. While the limited series was intended to provide a self-contained epic adventure, it is often remembered as a notable relic of its era's editorial efforts to maintain continuity across multiple overlapping titles.
