Fantastic Four Epic Collection: Heroes Reborn #1

The Fantastic Four Epic Collection: Heroes Reborn #1 was published by Marvel Comics to consolidate the controversial mid-1990s relaunch of the franchise. Following the events of the Onslaught crossover, the Fantastic Four were removed from the primary Marvel Universe and reimagined under the direction of Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld of Image Comics. This collection serves as a retrospective archive, housing these experimental stories that sought to modernize the team for a 1990s audience while shifting away from traditional continuity.

The design of this Epic Collection follows the standard trade paperback format established by Marvel to preserve their back catalog in high-quality, chronological volumes. The content features the work of writers such as Brandon Choi and Jim Lee, capturing a distinct period of aesthetic transition in the comic industry. Though initially divisive upon its original release due to the radical departure from classic characterizations, the collection is now recognized for its historical significance as an artifact of the corporate and creative strategies employed by Marvel during a period of financial restructuring.
