FX Senshi Kurumi-chan #2

FX Senshi Kurumi-chan began as an unconventional manga series written by Hiroshi Matsuyama and illustrated by Doraneko, first serialized in the late 1990s. The narrative revolves around Kurumi, a typical office worker who transforms into a warrior to combat market fluctuations, reflecting the intense financial atmosphere of the Japanese asset price bubble's aftermath. The series serves as a satirical bridge between the high-stakes world of foreign exchange trading and the tropes of the magical girl genre.

The design and tone of the second issue maintain the series' juxtaposition of mundane economic spreadsheets with vibrant, over-the-top action sequences. By blending technical market terminology with character-driven fantasy, the creators intended to demystify complex financial concepts for a broader audience. Upon release, the series gained a dedicated cult following for its unique fusion of shonen-style battles and fiscal commentary, eventually leading to its adaptation into an animated television series.
