Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun #18

Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun is a long-running four-panel comedy manga written and illustrated by Izumi Tsubaki, first serialized in 2011. The series functions as a meta-commentary on the shojo manga industry, focusing on a high school student named Umetaro Nozaki who secretly works as a prolific manga artist under a female pen name. Issue number 18, published in a standard tankobon volume format, continues the series' established pattern of subverting romantic tropes through awkward, often oblivious character interactions.

The series design is rooted in the aesthetic conventions of classic shojo manga, intentionally exaggerating sparkles, flower backgrounds, and dramatic framing to poke fun at the genre's earnest emotional intensity. Izumi Tsubaki’s art style is characterized by expressive, clean lines and distinct character designs that have been well-received by audiences for their comedic timing and readability. The manga's transition from a web-based publication to a widely successful print series solidified its reputation as a staple of contemporary gag comedy.
