G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #152 Hama Files Edition #1

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #152 holds a distinctive place in comic history as the final issue of the original Marvel Comics run, originally published in 1994. The Hama Files Edition represents a later archival release, designed to revisit Larry Hama’s foundational narrative work that defined the G.I. Joe mythos for over a decade. Hama, who served as the primary architect of the series, utilized this issue to bring a sense of finality to the sprawling conflict between the G.I. Joe team and Cobra, grounding the fantastical premise in the gritty, character-driven storytelling that garnered the series a dedicated cult following.

The aesthetic of this edition focuses on preserving the classic sequential art style that characterized the mid-nineties transition of the franchise. By re-releasing these files, the publisher sought to provide both long-term collectors and new readers with a clean, comprehensive look at the editorial notes and character profiles Hama developed during his tenure. The reception has been largely defined by nostalgia, as fans value the edition for its role in maintaining the continuity of the original series while highlighting the creative discipline Hama brought to the licensed property.
