Grayson #9

Grayson #9, published by DC Comics in 2015, arrived as part of the 'DC You' initiative, a period during which the publisher shifted focus toward character-driven narratives and unconventional genre blending. The series reimagined Dick Grayson, typically known as Nightwing or Robin, as a secret agent for the organization Spyral. This issue continues the series' signature aesthetic, which favored sleek, minimalist linework and a vibrant color palette that diverged from the darker tones found in many contemporary superhero titles.

The issue was written by Tom King and Tim Seeley, who aimed to explore themes of identity and espionage while maintaining the character's core spirit. Mikel Janín contributed the interior art, utilizing a refined, illustrative style that emphasized character expression and cinematic panel layouts. Upon its release, the run was critically recognized for its clever plotting and successful reinvention of the protagonist, often cited by fans and critics as a high point for the character during the mid-2010s.
