Guardians of the Galaxy #58

Guardians of the Galaxy issue #58 was released in 1995 as part of the original series that began in 1990. This title centered on the 31st-century iteration of the team, featuring characters like Vance Astro, Yondu, and Martinex, rather than the more contemporary version popularized by the 2014 film. The series was rooted in the cosmic lore established by Jim Starlin and others, aiming to expand upon the team's ongoing struggle against the Badoon and other threats across the Marvel multiverse.

The issue was written by Michael Gallagher, who helmed much of the series' run, with artwork by Kevin West. At this stage in the title's history, the creative team focused on intricate long-form storytelling that tied together years of character development. While the 1990s Guardians series never reached the massive cultural saturation of later adaptations, it maintained a dedicated readership among fans of Marvel’s space-faring adventures and remains a notable artifact of the company’s mid-nineties cosmic line.
