Historische Persönlichkeiten #10

Historische Persönlichkeiten #10 is part of a mid-20th-century German educational card series, which was typical of the era's focus on disseminating biographical information through collectible media. These series were frequently distributed by commercial entities, such as coffee roasters or food manufacturers, as incentives for brand loyalty, turning everyday household purchases into a mechanism for building a portable, encyclopedic library.

The design of these cards reflects a classic, austere aesthetic intended to project a sense of historical gravitas and academic authority. The illustrations often relied on archival portraiture or stylized ink-and-wash depictions of the figures in question. While individual artists for specific cards in the series are rarely credited due to the anonymous nature of corporate promotional material at the time, the series as a whole was received as a standard tool for school-aged children to engage with the lives of influential thinkers, rulers, and artists throughout Western history.
