Historische Persönlichkeiten #11

Historische Persönlichkeiten #11 is part of a collectible card series produced in Germany during the early 20th century, a period when cigarette companies frequently included educational or historical trading cards in their packaging to encourage brand loyalty and provide modest entertainment. These cards were designed to appeal to a public interest in history and national identity, turning the act of smoking into a small, curated lesson.

The design of the series typically employed lithographic illustrations that favored a dignified, academic aesthetic, often depicting key figures from European history in a classical style. The collection was well-received by the contemporary audience of casual collectors and youth, as it offered an accessible and affordable way to engage with historical biographies during an era before mass media dominated educational consumption.
