I Fantastici Quattro #1

Published in Italy in 1966 by Editoriale Corno, this issue marks the debut of the Fantastic Four in the Italian market. The series was brought to Italian readers as part of a strategic effort to introduce Marvel's growing library of superheroes to Europe. It featured the original work by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, re-packaged for a local audience that was largely unfamiliar with the nuanced, character-driven approach that defined the burgeoning Marvel Age of Comics.

The design of the Italian edition, overseen by the Corno editorial team, adapted the American cover art while adjusting the layout and interior color processes to suit domestic printing capabilities of the time. While the original 1961 U.S. release was a revolutionary moment that signaled a shift away from traditional comic archetypes, this Italian debut served as a foundational building block for the widespread popularity of Marvel characters in Italy, eventually establishing a dedicated fanbase that would last for decades.
