I Fantastici Quattro #17

I Fantastici Quattro #17 was published in Italy during the mid-1960s as part of Editoriale Corno’s long-running efforts to bring Marvel Comics to an Italian audience. This specific issue features the original American story from Fantastic Four #23, which was written by Stan Lee and illustrated by Jack Kirby. The narrative centers on the team's confrontation with the villainous Doctor Doom, a recurring antagonist who served as a primary driver of the series' early popularity.

The cover and interior art reflect the dynamic, high-energy style that Jack Kirby popularized during the Silver Age of comics. Kirby's design choices, characterized by bold lines and imaginative technological aesthetics, were instrumental in establishing the visual identity of the Fantastic Four. At the time of its release, the Italian reprints were instrumental in cultivating a dedicated European fanbase for American superhero stories, often utilizing unique cover colorings and localized translations to bridge cultural gaps for new readers.
