Il Giornalino #v. 85 no. 09

Il Giornalino is a long-running Italian weekly magazine founded in 1924 by the Society of St. Paul. It was established with a focus on providing wholesome, educational, and morally grounded entertainment for young readers, distinguishing itself from secular newsstand comics of the era. Over the decades, it became a cornerstone of Italian youth literature, famously serving as the home for significant serialized stories and contributing to the development of the Italian graphic novel tradition.

The publication is noted for its high production values and its role as a creative hub for prominent illustrators and writers, such as Sergio Toppi and Hugo Pratt. While the specific issue from volume 85 represents a much later stage in the magazine's long history, it adheres to the publication's traditional design philosophy, which emphasizes a blend of pedagogical content, classic comic strips, and contemporary social commentary intended for adolescent audiences.
