Il Segno di Zorro #v. 1 no.11

Il Segno di Zorro was a prominent Italian comic book series published during the mid-20th century, a period when American pulp heroes were finding a significant secondary audience in Italy through localized adaptations. This particular series brought the swashbuckling adventures of the masked vigilante to readers in a serial format, capitalizing on the popularity of both the original Johnston McCulley pulp stories and the enduring cultural impact of the 1940 film starring Tyrone Power.

The design of these issues typically featured striking, high-contrast cover art consistent with the aesthetic of Italian fumetti of the era. These publications were aimed at a mass-market audience, emphasizing dynamic action scenes and the romantic heroism inherent to the Zorro character. While the specific illustrators often worked in anonymity due to the fast-paced production schedules of the publishing houses, the series remains a notable example of how international folklore was filtered through the lens of European sequential art.
