Illustrerte Klassikere #92

Illustrerte Klassikere #92, released in Norway in 1957, is part of the long-running local adaptation of the American Classics Illustrated series. Founded by Albert Kanter, the series aimed to bring abridged literary masterpieces to a younger audience through the medium of comic books. This specific issue features an adaptation of Jack London's The Call of the Wild, a staple of the series' mission to democratize classic adventure literature during the post-war period.

The visual identity of this issue follows the established aesthetic of the Nordic editions, which often utilized high-quality reprints of the original American artwork. The illustrations were crafted to emphasize the dramatic tension of London's narrative, prioritizing realistic anatomy and atmospheric backgrounds. The series was well received by educators and parents at the time for its educational value, becoming a significant cultural touchstone for generations of Norwegian readers who engaged with these stories in a portable, affordable format.
