Justice League Task Force #21

Justice League Task Force #21, published by DC Comics in March 1995, arrived during a period of significant flux for the publisher's superhero team titles. As part of the wider DC Universe, the series focused on a shifting roster hand-picked for specific missions by Martian Manhunter. The issue is historically notable for its ties to the 'Underworld Unleashed' crossover event, which reshaped the moral landscape of the DC hierarchy by offering power to various villains and heroes in exchange for their souls.

The issue features art by Sal Velluto and inks by Jeff Albrecht, reflecting the high-energy, detail-oriented aesthetic common to mid-nineties comic books. The narrative, penned by Christopher Priest, was part of a larger effort to provide a more grounded, tactical approach to team dynamics compared to the flagship Justice League series. Critical reception at the time centered on the book's ability to balance complex subplots with the rigorous demands of an overarching company-wide event.
