Where it came from
Kimi ga Shinu Made Koi wo Shitai, known in English as 'I Want to Die Giving You My Love,' is a manga series authored and illustrated by the creator known as Aoyagi. The series began serialization in 2019 within the pages of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh magazine. It is set in a world where young girls are trained as soldiers to combat mysterious entities, focusing on the intimate bond between two students, Tsukiko and Ohka, as they navigate their short, prescribed lifespans.
The sixth volume of the series continues the narrative arc following the pair as they grapple with the existential weight of their duty and their deepening relationship. Aoyagi utilizes a delicate, emotive art style to contrast the brutal reality of the girls' training with their tender interactions. Upon its release, the series has been noted for its contemplative approach to the yuri genre, garnering appreciation for its somber tone and character-driven storytelling within the light novel and manga community.
