Where it came from
Kimi ga Shinu Made Koi wo Shitai, known in English as I Want to Love You Until I Die, is a manga series written and illustrated by Ayo Yoriko. The series began serialization in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh magazine in 2017, emerging during a period of increased interest in lyrical, atmospheric yuri narratives. The eighth volume continues the story's melancholic exploration of mortality, identity, and deep interpersonal connection between its protagonists, set against a backdrop of a world defined by conflict and limited lifespans.
Ayo Yoriko’s design work for the series is characterized by expressive, soft-lined character art and evocative panels that emphasize emotional intimacy over rapid action. Volume eight specifically maintains the aesthetic consistency established in earlier installments, focusing on the character development of Shiharu and Oh. The series has been received as a contemplative entry in its genre, praised by readers for its poetic prose and the deliberate pacing that allows the weight of the characters' circumstances to resonate.
