La Zorra y el Cuervo #238

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban satirical magazine that began publication in the mid-1960s, serving as a significant platform for political and social commentary under the editorship of the Union of Journalists of Cuba. The publication emerged as a vital outlet for local cartoonists to engage in critique through the lens of humor, often utilizing the anthropomorphic characters of the fox and the crow to mirror contemporary societal shifts and institutional inefficiencies.

The artistic direction of the magazine was defined by a distinct graphic style that blended traditional caricature with the socialist realism aesthetic prevalent in Cuban media at the time. Issue 238, like others in the series, showcases the collaborative effort of various Cuban illustrators who sought to balance biting social satire with accessible, punchy visuals. It remains a notable archival piece reflecting the intersection of state-sanctioned journalism and the evolving graphic arts movement in post-revolutionary Cuba.
