La Zorra y el Cuervo #239

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that began publication in the mid-1960s, serving as a vital outlet for satire and social commentary under the direction of the Union of Journalists of Cuba. Issue #239 emerged during a period when the publication had firmly established itself as a cornerstone of Cuban popular culture, utilizing the classic fable archetypes of the fox and the crow to critique bureaucracy and human folly through witty illustrations and vignettes.

The magazine's design philosophy leaned heavily into clean, expressive linework and the tradition of the political cartoon. Artists associated with the series often employed a minimalist approach to maximize the impact of the irony embedded in the scripts. This specific issue reflects the editorial standard of the era, which prioritized accessibility for a wide readership while maintaining a distinct, locally-informed sense of humor that resonated with generations of Cuban readers.
