La Zorra y el Cuervo #86

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that began publication in 1965, serving as a primary outlet for graphic satire and cartoons during a transformative era in the country's cultural history. Emerging from a tradition of political and social commentary, the magazine utilized the fable archetypes of the fox and the crow to critique bureaucracy, societal habits, and daily life through witty illustrations and short-form comedy.

The publication was heavily influenced by the work of legendary Cuban caricaturists, most notably Virgilio Martínez, whose distinct visual style defined the series' aesthetic. These issues were designed to be accessible to a wide audience, utilizing stark, punchy ink work to ensure the social critiques remained sharp and memorable. By the time issue #86 arrived, the magazine had solidified its role as a staple of Cuban kiosk culture, appreciated for its ability to balance lighthearted satire with the complex sociopolitical landscape of the time.
