La Zorra y el Cuervo #88

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that drew heavily from the tradition of didactic fables, specifically the pairing of the clever fox and the vain crow. Emerging during a period when the genre served both as lighthearted cultural satire and a vehicle for social commentary, the series utilized anthropomorphic animals to mirror contemporary human behaviors and societal shortcomings. Issue number 88 reflects the publication's established style of combining biting wit with distinctive mid-century cartooning sensibilities.

The visual identity of the magazine was defined by a collective of talented Cuban illustrators who emphasized expressive, fluid linework suited for newsprint reproduction. The artists sought to balance the classic moralistic tone of the source fables with modern, often irreverent, graphic storytelling. Upon its release, the issue was well-regarded among local readers for its ability to weave sharp institutional critiques into accessible, bite-sized narratives, solidifying its place in the history of Latin American periodical illustration.
