Le Fantôme #241

Le Fantôme, the French-language iteration of Lee Falk’s iconic comic strip character The Phantom, has a long-standing history of publication in France, primarily through various editions that brought the adventures of the Ghost Who Walks to international audiences. Issue #241 belongs to the legacy of these localized editions, which served as a staple for European readers of serialized adventure and pulp hero narratives throughout the mid-20th century.

The character design of The Phantom, originally conceived by Lee Falk and illustrated by Ray Moore, introduced the classic purple costume and masked vigilante archetype that influenced decades of superhero fiction. These specific issues were curated to maintain the adventurous tone of the original American newspaper strips, often featuring translated scripts and adapted layouts designed to fit the standard European comic book format of the era.
