Leçons de Vie avec Grand Frère Uramichi #9

Leçons de Vie avec Grand Frère Uramichi, known in Japan as Uramichi Oniisan, began as a web manga series created by Gaku Kuze in 2017. The series emerged from the trend of dark humor office comedies, focusing on the disillusioned Uramichi Omota, a gymnastics instructor for a children's television program. The narrative centers on the stark contrast between the cheerful persona required for his job and the cynical reality of his adult life, effectively subverting the tropes of educational children's entertainment.

The character designs and storytelling, overseen by Kuze, are intentionally crafted to highlight the absurdity of performative optimism. Volume 9, like its predecessors, maintains the series' signature blend of deadpan humor and relatable professional malaise, which has resonated with adult readers who appreciate the satirical look at the Japanese corporate environment. Upon release, the series has been well-received by fans of the seinen demographic, consistently praised for its sharp dialogue and the author's ability to balance melancholy with comedy.
