Lodoss War - Crônicas da Guerra de Lodoss: A Dama de Pharis #2

Crônicas da Guerra de Lodoss: A Dama de Pharis is a manga adaptation of the light novel series Record of Lodoss War, originally written by Ryo Mizuno. This particular storyline serves as a prequel to the main series, detailing the heroic exploits of the knight Flaus and her companions as they confront the rising darkness of Kardis. It was published in Japan during the mid-1990s as part of the massive multimedia expansion of the Lodoss franchise, which began as a transcript of Dungeons & Dragons tabletop sessions played by the Group SNE creative collective.

The art for this series was handled by Akihiro Yamada, whose distinct, painterly, and high-fantasy aesthetic set it apart from other contemporary manga. Yamada aimed for a sophisticated, epic tone that mirrored the classic high-fantasy tropes of the novels, utilizing detailed character designs and elaborate environmental backgrounds. Upon its release, the manga was well-received by fans of the anime and novels for its faithful expansion of the Lodoss lore and its contribution to the dark, intricate visual identity that has since defined the series in international markets.
