Maeda Keiji Kabuki Tabi #22

Maeda Keiji Kabuki Tabi is a historical manga series that began serialization in 2009, based on the novel by Tetsuo Hara and Nobuhiko Horie. It serves as a reimagining of the life of the legendary Sengoku-era warrior Maeda Keiji, focusing on his eccentric personality and his pursuit of artistic and martial excellence. The narrative style is heavily influenced by the distinct, high-impact aesthetic associated with Tetsuo Hara’s body of work, blending historical drama with stylized action sequences.

Issue #22 represents a specific installment in this long-running series, which has been well-regarded for its dramatic pacing and intricate character designs. The manga was published in Monthly Comic Zenon, a magazine known for hosting titles that appeal to fans of gekiga and historical epics. The design and illustration reflect the collaborative efforts of the studio, maintaining a consistent visual language that emphasizes the protagonist’s 'kabukimono' lifestyle—characterized by defiance of social norms and a flair for the dramatic.
