Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #10

Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #10, released in 1985, serves as the penultimate chapter of the groundbreaking limited series that fundamentally altered the Marvel Universe. Conceived primarily as a vehicle to promote Mattel’s line of action figures, the story chronicles an intergalactic conflict orchestrated by the entity known as the Beyonder, forcing Earth’s heroes and villains to confront one another on a remote planet. This specific issue builds upon the complex character dynamics established throughout the run, particularly focusing on the mounting tensions within the ranks of the heroes and the shifting allegiances among the antagonists.

The issue features the writing of Jim Shooter, who provided a structured, blockbuster approach to the crossover, paired with the iconic artwork of Mike Zeck. Zeck’s clean, kinetic style helped solidify the visual identity of the event, grounding its cosmic scale in clear, readable action sequences. At the time of its release, the series was received as a milestone in comic book history, marking one of the first times a publisher successfully executed a massive, company-wide event that prioritized accessibility for new readers while maintaining long-term continuity.
