Mórén Zhēntàn Nǎoniè Nièluó, known internationally as Neuro: Supernatural Detective, is a manga series created by Yusei Matsui. First serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2005, the series follows a demon named Neuro who consumes mysteries to satisfy his hunger, partnering with a high school student named Yako Katsuragi to solve complex criminal cases. The series is celebrated for its distinctive blend of dark humor, supernatural intrigue, and unconventional character designs that evolved significantly from the early chapters to its conclusion.

Issue #16 belongs to the broader collection of tankōbon volumes that compiled these serialized chapters. Matsui’s design style in this series was noted for its frantic energy and intricate panel layouts, which often mirrored the chaotic and unsettling nature of the mysteries Neuro encountered. The series was well-received for its unique premise, eventually receiving an anime adaptation, and remains a cult favorite for its subversion of traditional shōnen detective tropes.
