Mórén Zhēntàn Nǎoniè Nièluó #14

Mórén Zhēntàn Nǎoniè Nièluó, known to international audiences as Neuro: Supernatural Detective, began as a manga series by Yusei Matsui, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump starting in 2005. Issue 14 relates to the collected tankōbon releases or chapter serialization that depicted the investigative adventures of the demon Neuro Nōgami, who travels to Earth to consume mysteries. The series was noted for its distinct, jagged art style and its departure from traditional shōnen tropes by focusing on psychological puzzles and surrealist horror elements.

The narrative design reflects Matsui's interest in subverting the detective genre, using Neuro's demonic nature to highlight the inherent darkness of human culprits. Upon its publication, the series was received as a dark horse hit, gaining a dedicated following for its sharp wit and complex, often grotesque character designs. It eventually served as a formative project for the creator before he moved on to broader international success with subsequent works.
