My Home Hero #18

My Home Hero, written by Naoki Yamakawa and illustrated by Masashi Asaki, began its serialization in Weekly Young Magazine in 2017. The series follows Tetsuo Tosu, an unassuming salaryman who becomes entangled in the criminal underworld after protecting his daughter from her abusive boyfriend. Volume 18 continues the high-stakes narrative trajectory of the series, maintaining the tension and moral ambiguity that have defined the manga since its inception.

Masashi Asaki’s artwork is noted for its gritty, expressive style, which effectively captures the psychological toll of the characters' increasingly desperate decisions. As the series progressed toward its later volumes, it garnered critical attention for its relentless pacing and its subversion of the typical suspense thriller tropes. Volume 18 reflects the mature tone and dark thematic exploration that earned the franchise its reputation within the seinen manga demographic.
