My Home Hero #21

My Home Hero, written by Naoki Yamakawa and illustrated by Masashi Asaki, began its serialization in Weekly Young Magazine in 2017. The series follows Tetsuo Tosu, a salaryman who becomes embroiled in the criminal underworld after killing his daughter's abusive boyfriend to protect her. Volume 21 serves as a late-stage installment in this intense suspense thriller, continuing the narrative shift from a localized family drama into a larger, more complex confrontation with organized crime elements.

Masashi Asaki’s art style is noted for its expressive, gritty character designs that heighten the tension of the series' psychological stakes. As the story reached the later chapters included in the 21st volume, critics often highlighted how the pacing maintained its grip on readers despite the long duration of the serialization. The series has been widely praised for its grounded approach to the thriller genre, focusing on the tactical desperation of an ordinary man navigating extraordinary danger.
