Oldman #1

Oldman #1, released by Image Comics in 2016, originated from the creative partnership of writer Renato Jones creator Kaare Andrews. The series was designed to explore themes of aging within the superhero genre, presenting a stark, gritty aesthetic that emphasizes the vulnerability and past traumas of its protagonist. Andrews, known for his distinct, high-contrast visual style, utilized the medium to craft a narrative that bridges the gap between classic heroic archetypes and contemporary dark satire.

Upon its release, the issue was received as a stylistic departure for the publisher, noted primarily for Andrews' kinetic layouts and moody, atmospheric color palette. The work was conceived as a limited series intended to deconstruct the concept of the legendary hero in a modern, cynical context. While it garnered attention for its bold artistic direction, the series remains a niche entry in the Image Comics catalog, appreciated by collectors who favor Andrews' signature approach to graphic storytelling.
