Outre-Tombe #15

Outre-Tombe was a French horror and fantasy comic anthology series published throughout the 1970s, a period marked by the proliferation of pocket-sized, black-and-white 'poche' comics in France. These publications often explored macabre, supernatural, and gothic themes, drawing aesthetic inspiration from the Italian fumetti neri tradition, which had gained significant cultural traction across Europe during the previous decade.

The fifteenth issue continues the series' signature focus on macabre short stories and moody illustration. Much like its contemporaries in the genre, the publication prioritized atmosphere and sensationalist storytelling over long-form continuity, utilizing a revolving door of illustrators who favored high-contrast ink work. It remains a representative artifact of the European independent horror comic scene of the mid-20th century, appreciated by collectors for its pulp aesthetic and the stark, grim artistic style that defined the era.
