Outsiders #10

Outsiders #10, published by DC Comics in 1986, arrived during the later stages of the original series created by Mike W. Barr and Jim Aparo. The Outsiders were established as a team of unconventional heroes operating outside the traditional Justice League structure, often handling morally complex, covert operations. This issue fits into the series' hallmark approach of blending superhero tropes with themes of political intrigue and personal drama, reflecting the darker, more grounded tone that began to permeate DC titles in the mid-1980s.

The creative direction of the series was heavily influenced by Mike W. Barr’s penchant for espionage-style storytelling and Jim Aparo’s dynamic, cinematic illustration style. Aparo, known for his work on Batman, provided the visual consistency that defined the team's aesthetic identity. The series was generally well-received for offering a more adult-oriented alternative to the mainstream DC team books of the era, maintaining a dedicated readership by focusing on the friction between the team members' clashing personalities and their leader Batman's tactical detachment.
