Power Pack #44

Power Pack #44 was published by Marvel Comics in March 1989 as part of a long-running series created by Louise Simonson. The series, which began in 1984, was unique for its time because it focused on a team of four pre-teen siblings—Alex, Julie, Jack, and Katie Power—who gained superpowers from an alien visitor. By the time this issue was released, the title had moved away from its early, darker themes and leaned into more whimsical, character-driven adventures that balanced superhero action with the everyday anxieties of growing up.

The interior art for this period of the series was crafted by Jon Bogdanove, whose distinctively fluid and expressive style helped define the later years of the title. Bogdanove’s work on Power Pack is often praised for its kinetic energy and ability to capture the youthful vitality of the protagonists. Issue #44 reflects the collaborative storytelling common in the late 1980s Marvel landscape, aiming to keep a younger audience engaged while maintaining the continuity of the wider Marvel Universe through guest appearances and evolving narrative arcs.
