Power Pack #48

Power Pack #48 was published in August 1989 as part of Marvel Comics' long-running Power Pack series. Created by Louise Simonson and artist June Brigman, the title was unique for its time in focusing on a group of young siblings who gained extraterrestrial superpowers. By the late 1980s, the series had begun to lean into more mature, socially conscious themes, moving away from the more lighthearted adventure tone that defined its initial 1984 launch.

The issue features art by John Bogdonove and a script by Terry Austin, reflecting the rotating creative teams that handled the book toward the end of its original run. The narrative maintains the core premise of the Power family navigating the complexities of childhood while balancing their superhero responsibilities. It is regarded by collectors as a mid-to-late stage issue that highlights the transition period for Marvel's younger-skewing titles before the series eventually concluded its monthly publication schedule shortly thereafter.
