Rikki #1

Rikki #1 was released in 1993 as part of a short-lived comic book series published by Antarctic Press. Created and written by Ken Mitchroney, the title sought to carve out a niche within the burgeoning independent comic scene of the 1990s, focusing on an anthropomorphic female protagonist in a high-energy, adventure-oriented narrative style that was characteristic of the era's alternative press offerings.

The visual design of Rikki draws heavily from the tradition of funny-animal comics, blending stylized character work with the dynamic pacing common in underground indie publishing. While the series did not achieve widespread mainstream penetration, it remains a notable example of the independent creative spirit of the early nineties, remembered primarily by collectors interested in the specific output of Antarctic Press during that period of expansion.
