Rikki #4

Rikki was a short-lived independent comic series published by Antarctic Press in the mid-1990s. The title emerged during a period of experimentation within the small-press comics scene, characterized by a focus on stylized character designs and a fusion of anthropomorphic art styles with traditional adventure tropes. As the fourth installment, the issue sought to advance the narrative arc established in the preceding chapters while maintaining the aesthetic identity that defined the series' modest following.

The character design and illustrative work on Rikki were heavily influenced by the contemporary trends of manga-inspired independent comics found in the American underground market at the time. The creative team aimed to blend dynamic action sequences with the character-driven storytelling common in serialized indie comics. Upon release, the issue was largely recognized by enthusiasts of the small-press movement, though it remains a niche artifact from an era defined by a wide proliferation of experimental and creator-owned titles.
