Where it came from
Rikki was a short-lived comic book series published by Antarctic Press during the late 1990s. The series was rooted in the independent comic scene of the era, which often prioritized niche genre fiction and stylized character designs. Issue #3 continued the narrative arc established in the preceding chapters, functioning as part of an attempt to build a serialized adventure experience for readers of small-press titles.
The creative direction for the series relied on an aesthetic common to the 1990s independent movement, blending elements of action-oriented storytelling with distinct character-driven visuals. The editorial goal was to establish a dedicated readership within the competitive direct-market comic landscape. While the series did not achieve mainstream longevity, it remains a recognized example of the experimental and diverse output characteristic of Antarctic Press's historical catalog.
