Roy #2

Roy #2 is part of a self-published independent comic series created and illustrated by the artist known as Pye. Emerging from the vibrant and often experimental underground comic scene of the mid-2010s, the series is characterized by its stark, minimalist aesthetic and deeply personal, introspective narrative style. It follows the titular character through surreal, melancholic landscapes that reflect the author's exploration of alienation and quietude.

The design of the second issue continues the tonal shift established in the debut, utilizing high-contrast ink work that emphasizes negative space. Pye’s approach was intended to strip away the traditional pacing of mainstream superhero comics in favor of a slower, more deliberate reading experience. Upon release, the issue was well-received within small-press communities for its stylistic cohesion and the evocative, often cryptic nature of its storytelling.
