Sakamoto Days #26

Sakamoto Days, written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki, debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2020. The series follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who retires to lead a quiet life as a convenience store owner, only to be constantly pulled back into the fray by former associates and enemies. Issue 26 is part of the ongoing serialized collection that blends high-octane action choreography with deadpan humor, a hallmark of Suzuki's creative approach to the shonen genre.

The design of the individual issues reflects the standard aesthetic of the Shonen Jump tankobon releases, featuring vivid, kinetic cover art that highlights the juxtaposition between Sakamoto's domestic life and his past skills. As the series progressed toward its 26th installment, it gained significant critical acclaim for its inventive panel layouts and fluid fight sequences. It has been widely received by readers as a modern staple of the magazine's current lineup, consistently praised for its refreshing take on the traditional assassin archetype.
