Sakamoto Days #27

Sakamoto Days, created by Yuto Suzuki, began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2020, quickly garnering attention for its blend of high-octane action and deadpan humor. Chapter 27 serves as a key installment in the early-to-mid chapters of the series, continuing the narrative of Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who retires to run a convenience store, only to find his past constantly encroaching on his quiet life.

The art style throughout the series, including this specific issue, is noted for its fluid, cinematic choreography and creative use of domestic settings in combat. Suzuki’s background in one-shot manga contributed to the polished visual pacing of the series. Upon its release, the volume containing this issue was well-received for maintaining the momentum of the series' core premise, blending mundane shopkeeping with increasingly elaborate supernatural-adjacent martial arts sequences.
