Shite no Hana: Nōgakushi Haga Kotarō no Sakikata #6

Shite no Hana: Nōgakushi Haga Kotarō no Sakikata is a manga series that explores the nuanced and disciplined world of Noh theater, specifically focusing on the life and craft of the titular practitioner, Kotaro Haga. Serialized within the broader landscape of seinen manga, the work serves as a detailed meditation on traditional Japanese performing arts, aiming to bridge the gap between historical performance techniques and contemporary narrative storytelling.

The series is noted for its meticulous attention to the aesthetic details of Noh, including the intricate mask work, stage movement, and the psychological weight of the shite, or lead actor. As the sixth installment in the series, this issue continues the author's pursuit of documenting the rigorous lifestyle and philosophical challenges faced by a Noh professional, providing readers with a rare, illustrated look into an insular cultural tradition that is often inaccessible to the public eye.
