Sonic to Yūki no Tsurugi #1

Sonic to Yūki no Tsurugi, or Sonic and the Sword of Courage, was a short-lived Japanese manga series published in the early 1990s. The series was designed as a tie-in to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise during its initial surge in global popularity, specifically aiming to capture the Japanese youth market through localized storytelling that blended traditional shonen tropes with the platforming speed of the video game character.

The illustrations for this series leaned heavily into the aesthetic established by the early Sonic game manuals and promotional art of the era. While the creative team sought to expand Sonic's persona beyond the digital realm, the manga remained a niche curiosity among hardcore collectors, eventually fading into obscurity as the broader franchise shifted toward more Western-centric narrative styles in subsequent decades.
