Strikeforce Morituri: Electric Undertow #5

Strikeforce Morituri: Electric Undertow was a 1989 miniseries published by Marvel Comics, serving as a spin-off to the original Strikeforce Morituri concept created by Peter B. Gillis and Brent Anderson. The series explored a future where Earth is defended by soldiers who have been granted superpowers at the cost of their impending death. This particular five-issue arc continued the themes of mortality and military science fiction that defined the franchise throughout its late-1980s run.

The issue features artwork by Tom Artis and narrative development that deepens the cynical, high-stakes atmosphere established in the main title. As part of the Epic Comics imprint, the series was designed to target a slightly more mature audience looking for darker, more experimental storytelling within the superhero genre. While it maintains a dedicated cult following among collectors of late-80s independent-style Marvel titles, it remains a niche entry in the publisher's history.
