Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san #7

Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san, authored by Nekoume, began its serialization in Ichijinsha's Manga 4-koma Palette in 2014. The series centers on Aki Shiina, a middle school student who moves to Tokyo to gain independence, and the gentle, maternal caretaker of his boarding house, Ayaka Sunohara. The seventh volume continues the series' signature blend of slice-of-life comedy and fan-service, maintaining the lighthearted tone established in earlier installments while advancing the relationships between the residents of Sunohara-sou.

Nekoume’s art style is characterized by soft, rounded character designs and a focus on intimate, humorous domestic situations. As part of the 4-koma format, the seventh volume excels at delivering punchy, character-driven gags that lean into the trope of the 'older sister' figure. The series was well-received enough to earn a television anime adaptation in 2018, which further solidified the domestic appeal of the source material for fans of character-driven comedy manga.
