Superman: Father of Tomorrow #1

Superman: Father of Tomorrow #1 was published by DC Comics in 2003 as part of the Superman line during a period of transition for the character. It was conceived as a self-contained story intended to explore the legacy of the Man of Steel, fitting into the broader publishing initiative of the early 2000s that sought to modernize established tropes while respecting the mythological weight of the Superman persona.

The issue was written by Michael Eury and illustrated by various contributors who aimed to capture a classic, high-adventure aesthetic reminiscent of the Silver Age. The creative team focused on the core tension between Clark Kent’s personal history and his responsibilities as a global icon. While the story was received as a standard entry in the expanded Superman universe, it remains a notable example of the era's attempt to weave stand-alone narratives into the complex, ongoing continuity of the Superman mythos.
