Superman: Father of Tomorrow #2

Superman: Father of Tomorrow was published by DC Comics as part of a four-issue prestige format limited series in 2003. The story was written by Chuck Austen and illustrated by artist Dan Green, centering on Superman's attempts to navigate a complex, unfolding mystery involving his heritage and the responsibilities of his position. It emerged during an era where DC frequently experimented with standalone prestige miniseries to offer self-contained narratives that explored the internal moral dilemmas of their marquee characters.

The visual direction for the series aimed for a grounded, cinematic aesthetic, with Green's detailed linework intended to emphasize the gravity and weight of Superman's decision-making process. Upon its release, the series received a mixed reception from readers and critics; while some appreciated the attempt to delve into the character's long-term legacy and the implications of his powers, others found the narrative pacing and character characterizations to be a significant departure from the established continuity of the main Superman titles at the time.
