The Amazing Spider-Man #182

The Amazing Spider-Man issue 182, published in July 1978, was crafted during a period of transition for the title. Written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by Ross Andru, the issue follows Spider-Man as he attempts to deal with the aftermath of his fallout with Mary Jane Watson. The narrative is deeply embedded in the late-seventies approach to the character, which prioritized Peter Parker's evolving personal life and emotional vulnerabilities alongside the more traditional superhero conflicts.

Ross Andru's art style in this era is noted for its fluid, kinetic energy, a hallmark of his long and influential tenure on the series. By this stage in the run, Andru and Wolfman had established a specific rhythm that balanced the domestic melodrama of New York life with the heightened stakes of the Marvel Universe. The issue was received as a standard but quintessential chapter of the Bronze Age of comics, contributing to the enduring stability of Spider-Man's status as Marvel's flagship character.
