The Amazing Spider-Man #546

The Amazing Spider-Man #546, published in January 2008, serves as the opening chapter of the Brand New Day storyline. Following the controversial One More Day arc, which erased Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson's marriage from continuity, this issue was designed as a jumping-on point for new readers. It ushered in a new era for the character, featuring a revolving door of writers and artists tasked with returning Spider-Man to his status as a down-on-his-luck, single superhero living in New York City.

The issue features cover art by Steve McNiven and internal storytelling by Dan Slott, with pencils by Steve McNiven. The creative team aimed to revitalize the franchise by stripping away complex long-term continuity and refocusing on the core elements of the character's early adventures. Upon release, the issue received significant attention from the comic book community, serving as both a source of debate regarding the editorial direction and a fresh start that successfully re-established the daily struggles of Peter Parker.
