The Incredible Hulk #371

The Incredible Hulk issue #371, released in July 1990, occupies a significant place in the Peter David era of the title. During this period, David moved away from the more traditional interpretations of the character to focus on the psychological complexity of Bruce Banner and the various manifestations of his alter ego. This issue represents a transition point in the 'Mr. Fixit' narrative arc, where the Hulk functioned as a Las Vegas enforcer, a creative departure that explored themes of morality and identity through a noir-inspired lens.

The interior artwork was provided by Dale Keown, whose dynamic and muscular rendering of the Hulk defined the aesthetic of the series during the early 1990s. Keown's style was highly influential at the time, helping to solidify the visual language of the character for a new generation of readers. The cover art, illustrated by Keown, reflects the era's emphasis on high-action visuals, and the story itself was well-received for maintaining the depth and wit that characterized Peter David's long-standing tenure on the book.
